The software has been created as general program for security cross platforms functioning concurrently with wireless and wired Internet webcams, Television-boards, capture cards, power-line, and USB cameras. It has web interface with the same appearance and functionality on the local and apart pcs. Users view MPEG-4 coded picture and have complete control of the software via network that surveillance workstation can be operated without monitor, keyboard, and mouse attached. Program`s modular composition considerably boosts reliability because all parts operate as autonomous programs. If one module freezes, other components continue working. For instance if the `record` unit fails, `watchdog` restarts it instantly that viewers don`t notice anything because they are watching picture using a `playback` module. The program does `repeated` recording that the `hard drive full` situation never occurs. The recording can be constant or it can be initiated by activity, human face recognition, or by calendar. The program has pre-alarm and post-alarm recording. Playing back recorded video is pretty easy and performs on the surveillance station as well as on distant server via Web interface. The program does synchronized video playback for event examination from multiple cameras concurrently. Also recorded information can be searched by date, time or by face detected. All recorded information can be encrypted and password protected.
